The hugely respected long time online beer retailer Beer Merchants has hit the ground running with their first London bar, right by Hackney Wick station (note the handy new entrance to the station directly opposite the bar). The bar is on the ground floor of a huge old warehouse building, and it’s a great space. Light, airy, comfortable and atmospheric, with a smaller second room for good measure. Beers include 1-2 cask, 20 keg and around 500 bottles (corkage for on site drinking), all competitively priced, with some superb choices. Food is meat and cheese plates, with street food trucks Thu-Sat. The outside seating is great in good weather. Outstanding place and worthy of its status as a Guide ‘Top Pick’.

The tap room for the on-line beer merchant. What can I say? This place is superb, a huge cavernous building with plenty of seating plus an outdoor seating area. They have 20 keg and 2 cask lines of excellent, changing, beers. If, however, there is nothing you fancy on draft then you can divert your attention to the copious amount of packaged beers across the 7 large fridges. If you can't find something you like here then maybe beer isn't really your thing!
