London Area Breweries

As far as we are aware, there are now 104 active breweries in the London area, comprising 82 production breweries and 22 brewpubs. Our criteria is as follows:

  • We only count actual, physical breweries with their own brewing kit within the London area, brewing the majority of their beer commercially on that kit. A pilot kit used occasionally, for show, or to 'justify' one's status as a 'brewery' does not qualify.

  • The London area is defined as the 33 London Boroughs shown here: http://directory.londoncouncils.gov.uk/

  • Where two or more brewing companies share one brewing kit, we count this as one brewery.

  • We also don't include breweries producing sake, kvass or similar.

  • If you are aware of any other breweries within the London area that are brewing commercially on their own kit then please let us know.
