This lovely bar offers gravity cask beers served from a cold room behind the bar, and a bottled selection, which includes an interesting Belgian list with some beers you never see anywhere, especially in the UK. The condition of the cask beers was really good when we visited, and the service warm and friendly. If you want to move on to the other local micropubs, you can get to Hop Inn, Hornchurch on the handy overground service one stop from Upminster to Emerson Park, or you can take the 370 bus. From there, take the 370 bus to the Drill roundabout then walk the rest of the way to Gidea Park micropub. NB: Monday opening is a trial starting Mon 27 March 2023 - best to check before you travel that the trial has been a success...

Micropub a short walk from Upminster station. Cask beers are served on gravity from the glass fronted cold room. There are usually half a dozen cask ales on offer alongside 4 draft beers and a small packaged selection. There is an emphasis on showcasing local breweries, but beers from all over the country may be encountered. Guaranteed a friendly welcome here.
