Classic pub now back open after a major refurbishment.
Jezza says
The essential character and charm of this lovely pub has been retained after a recent refurb, with the only visible changes being the installation of some modern loos, and the loss of some garden space (presumably some of the garden was sold to help pay for the much needed refurb - there's a new house next to the pub where the garden was previously). There are still some Tim Taylor beers - two or three on our recent visits- but there's also a wide range of beers from other breweries. Since the refurb the ownership has changed hands so it's now under new management, and it's good to see this lovely pub go from strength to strength.

Recently refurbished this pub in a cul de sac close to the river is unique in London in that, despite being a freehouse, it has close ties to Timothy Taylor. It is the place to go if you want to find something other than Landlord, and in excellent condition. There is now a greater range across its ten handpumps, but all from great breweries and in all in perfect condition. This is just a great back street boozer, popular with locals, that happens to have a beer range that steps it up a level.
