Classic country pub on Putney Heath by Wimbledon Common.
Jezza says
A pub transformed with it's relatively recent major refurb. Its massive garden is impressive enough – and gorgeous on a warm sunny day – but the interior is really lovely, with essentially one large open plan space, cleverly divided into a number of distinct areas, some of which are quite cosy. The food is excellent and cask ales are from mainly local breweries. The 12 keg lines are a bit of a disappointment, however, and the highlight from the c.10 bottles is Wallonia’s classic La Chouffe. NB: we list the nearest tube and train stations, but the best way to get here is to take the 93 bus to Tibbets Corner from either Putney or Wimbledon, or else enjoy a rather pleasant walk over Heath or Common. Reports on beer range and quality welcome.

Large pub on the edge of Putney Heath. Part of the Brunning & Price chain this is a place where handpumps outnumber keg taps. Due to it's location it is very popular with a wide changing clientele enjoying the extensive food menu and well kept beers. Only a couple of minutes walk from main roads this is an oasis of calm.
